Construction tech start-up Trunk Tools has secured a $20 million series A round of funding, the company announced August 20. The capital outlay was led by Redpoint Ventures with participation from Innovation Endeavors, who led the construction artificial intelligence platform’s seed round, bringing the total raised to-date by Trunk Tools to $30 million.

Sustainable cement alternative Fortera has also gained more funding August 20, banking $85 million in its series C to scale up the deployment of its reduced carbon cement technology that integrates with existing plant infrastructure. The round included participation from previous investors Khosla Ventures and Temasek and first-time investments from Wollemi Capital, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Presidio Ventures, and Alumni Ventures. With operations at the company’s Redding ReCarb Plant underway, Fortera said it will use the funding to fit out additional plants to produce its ReAct green cement product, which uses 70% less CO2 per ton than traditional cement.
