Case Study Proves Trunk Tools' Effectiveness on Jobsites
In a pilot program with Gilbane, Trunk Tools’ TrunkText was deployed on a $456 million project in Milwaukee. The project, comprising over 33.7 GB of data across 20.6K documents, required a solution to handle massive information efficiently. TrunkText aimed to increase efficiency, reduce answer lag time, and boost field confidence.
During the pilot, 246 questions were asked over 37 working days, saving 20-40 minutes per question in search and travel time. This resulted in a 6.5x ROI from labor savings alone and a combined 40x ROI when considering both labor savings and rework prevention. The project team validated an 87% answer correctness rate, leading to significant time and cost savings, with over $100K/month of potential rework avoided.
The pilot’s success prompted the company to expand TrunkText to approximately 10 additional job sites. User feedback highlighted the tool’s ability to streamline document management and expedite responses, preventing context switching and unnecessary delays. Overall, TrunkText proved to be a transformative tool, enhancing productivity and decision-making on complex construction projects.
