Chris Boyd Named Chief Product Officer at Trunk Tools to Drive Product Innovation in Construction AI

Trunk Tools CEO Dr. Sarah Buchner and Chief Product Officer Chris Boyd mark a milestone moment as they celebrate Chris’s promotion and the company’s continued commitment to field-driven AI innovation in construction, and to #LetBuildersBuild.

We’re thrilled to share that Chris Boyd has been named Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Trunk Tools. This milestone reflects our continued investment in product leadership as we scale our generative AI platform across the $13 trillion construction industry.

Chris has been with Trunk Tools for over two years, and during that time, he’s been instrumental in shaping our product strategy. As VP of Product, he launched foundational AI applications designed to solve real pain points in the field. He built and scaled our product function from the ground up, implemented structured development processes, and partnered closely with customers to ensure we delivered value from day one.

Now, as CPO, Chris will lead our Product and Engineering organizations. His focus? Delivering high-impact solutions, improving execution, and aligning teams to fulfill our mission: to empower construction to #LetBuildersBuild.

“Chris has been a foundational part of our leadership team,” said Dr. Sarah Buchner, Founder and CEO of Trunk Tools. “His deep empathy for the customer, rigorous product thinking, and ability to bring clarity to complexity have helped shape Trunk Tools into the company it is today. I’m thrilled to have him step into the Chief Product Officer role as we enter our next phase of growth.”

Chris brings over a decade of product leadership experience across SaaS, AI, and construction tech—from early-stage startups to high-growth scale-ups. He’s known for translating complex technical challenges into intuitive, user-centric tools that construction professionals actually want to use. This practical, field-driven approach has been key to our rapid adoption across the industry.

“We’re solving some of the most urgent problems in construction with incredibly powerful technology,” said Chris Boyd. “It’s a privilege to lead this team, and we’re just scratching the surface of what we’re capable of delivering. We’re going to stay close to our customers and keep building solutions that empower them to do what they do best: build.”

Chris’s promotion marks an exciting chapter in our journey to elevate the built world with practical, field-tested AI. We’re proud to have him at the helm as we continue to transform construction with tools that drive measurable impact on every jobsite.
