Shyr holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, where he specialized in statistical machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. His academic background provides a strong foundation for applying innovative AI advancements to the construction industry. Before joining Trunk Tools, Alex served as VP of Data & AI at Next Insurance, where he played a pivotal role in harnessing data to drive business growth and optimize operations, while delivering strategic value through machine learning and genAI applications.
In his new role at Trunk Tools, Alex will focus on leading the growing AI engineering team, further developing the AI platform to empower construction professionals with more efficient tools and smarter decision-making processes. His expertise will be crucial for pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in the construction field and cementing Trunk Tools’ as thought leaders in the growing construction AI space.
