Torcon partnered with Trunk Tools in August 2025 to pilot a new way for project engineers, PMs, and supers to access project data instantly and automate time-intensive submittal reviews.
The challenge
Manual document retrieval, mislabeled files, and constant context switching pulled teams off task. Finding answers across drawings, specs, submittals, and RFIs could take hours — or a walk back to the trailer.
The approach
Across two active projects, Torcon used TrunkText for source-backed Q&A from project documentation and TrunkSubmittal to accelerate compliance reviews for project engineers.
Outcomes
- 453 hours (57 days) saved from TrunkText in the first four full months — ~24.7 minutes per prompt across nearly 1,100 prompts
- 64 submittal reviews completed with ~43.5 minutes saved per review (~46 hours)
- Most reviews flagged non-compliant (69%) or partially compliant (30%), surfacing issues earlier
- Early-career engineers get a head start instead of drowning in hundreds of drawings and thousands of spec pages
- Answers that used to take 45–60 minutes (or 2–3 hours) now surface in seconds
