Trunk Tools Announces Launch of TrunkReview

We are excited to introduce TrunkReview, the newest agent from Trunk Tools designed to automate one of the most time-consuming and error-prone workflows in construction: reviewing drawing revisions. TrunkReview accelerates how teams assess changes between drawing sets, helping project teams avoid missed details that can quickly snowball into $10,000+ rework events.

Drawing revisions—also commonly referred to as bulletins—are critical QA/QC moments in the project lifecycle. Yet they’re routinely reviewed under time pressure, across dozens of sheets, and with changes that may or may not be clouded by the design team. The result? Missed changes that can result in rework, delayed change orders, subcontractor fatigue (when GCs simply pass the responsibility to review down to their trades), and unnecessary risk to schedule and budget.

TrunkReview changes that equation. Leveraging cutting-edge vision language models trained by architects and construction industry experts on millions of data points, TrunkReview automatically scans new drawing revisions uploaded in the project management system, detects both clouded and unclouded changes, and presents them through a clear visual overlay and written narrative summary. Teams get instant clarity on what changed, where it changed, and which associated sheets are impacted—without manual comparison or guesswork.

Reviewing drawing revisions is one of those workflows everyone knows is painful, but until now there hasn’t been a way to do it apart from slowly working through every sheet in the new bulletin and comparing against the previously issued set.

TrunkReview gives project teams back hours of their time while reducing the risk of costly rework. It’s another big step toward our vision of autonomous agents handling the repetitive work so builders can focus on building.

Built for teams that can’t afford to miss a change

TrunkReview is purpose-built for Project Managers and Superintendents at General Contractors and Owners who self-perform work who are on the front lines of interpreting design changes and understanding their downstream impact. As soon as a new bulletin is uploaded to a project management system like Procore or Autodesk, TrunkReview gets to work automatically.

Key benefits of TrunkReview include:

  • Automatic detection of drawing revisions upon upload
  • Visual overlays highlighting additions in blue and deletions in red
  • Identification of clouded and non-clouded changes often missed by human reviewers
  • A written, bullet-point narrative summarizing all changes
  • Direct links to associated sheets impacted by each change
  • 70–85% faster review cycles compared to manual processes (e.g. a 20-sheet bulletin is analyzed in less than 5 minutes)

By anchoring the review process with both visuals and a written summary, TrunkReview helps teams move faster, communicate more clearly with subcontractors, and get a head start on the change order process.

Addressing real-world challenges faced by project teams

Manual bulletin reviews are not just slow—they’re risky. Even with legacy tools that offer visual overlays, reviews still start only when a human gets around to it, and the written narratives that offer guidance to the field are manually generated. TrunkReview removes that friction by running autonomously and delivering actionable insights in minutes.

  • Project Engineers reclaim hours previously spent flipping between sheets and versions.
  • Project Managers gain faster visibility into schedule and budget impacts.
  • Superintendents receive clearer guidance for their trades in the field.
  • Subcontractors avoid fatigue from being asked to analyze revisions and report back on impacts to their scopes of work.
  • Owners benefit from clearer justification for change order requests and reduced rework caused by missed changes.

Bulletin review, reinvented

At launch, TrunkReview focuses on revision-to-revision comparisons within a specific discipline (architectural, structural, and all MEP drawings supported), but this is just the beginning. Future iterations will compare drawings across disciplines to catch potential conflicts and bridge into cost, schedule, and procurement implications—further accelerating decision-making and reducing risk across the project lifecycle.

TrunkReview represents Trunk Tools’ first major step into AI-powered analysis of construction drawings, expanding beyond text-heavy documents and unlocking intelligence across all project documentation. Our mission remains the same: #LetBuildersBuild by automating the work that slows teams down.

TrunkReview has been in alpha and closed beta testing with a limited group of customers in early 2026, with broader availability planned for late Q1 2026.

With TrunkReview, we’re bringing cutting edge AI capabilities to construction drawings. The agent doesn’t wait for someone to click ‘compare.’ It detects revisions instantly, analyzes every sheet, and delivers a clear narrative teams can act on right away. That’s a fundamentally different experience from anything that exists today.
